I was born in Ji'an city, Jiangxi province, China, which is called the "cradle of revolution" of the country. After completing my B.S. (1998.07) and Master's degree (2001.03) major in Communication Engineering in Information and Engineerning University in Zhengzhou, Henan province, I came to Tsinghua University and got my PhD degree (2005.07) in Electronic Engineering. During that time, I got "Microsoft Fellow" award from Microsoft Research Asia (2002) and began my internship there in Web Search and Mining group for more than three years (2002.07-2006.02), working on Web image retrieval and supervised by Dr. Wei-Ying Ma. Then I spent one year as a Staff Research Engineer in IBM China Research Lab, working on mining and learning from call center transcription data.
Now I've moved to Web Search & Mining Group of Microsoft Research Asia as a PostDoc Associate Researcher.
